Clasps for jewelry making come in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes. In our shop you will find different types of spring rings and carabiners made of sterling silver and 14K gold filled in the colors yellow gold, rose gold and silver. Spring rings are available in light and solid versions, as well as closed and open rings.
Open and closed spring washers
With open spring washers, the soldered ring is open. Similar to open jump rings, this ring can be bent open with pliers, for example to thread a chain. This design has the advantage that jewelry components can be attached to the spring ring without a soldering tool.
When the spring washers are closed, the corresponding ring is soldered and cannot be bent open. This has the advantage that the ring does not accidentally open when worn. However, if something is to be attached to the spring ring, this must be done using an additional connecting element, such as a wire or a jump ring.
The versions Standard weight and Light weight
With standard weight spring washers, the material is slightly stronger. This results in a more stable construction with higher quality and durability. These spring washers are slightly larger and heavier than the light weight version.
Lightweight spring washers are slightly thinner, making them significantly lighter than standard spring washers. Because less precious metal is used, they are also significantly cheaper than the standard version. However, due to the delicate and filigree design, the closure does not have the same service life as the standard version.
